The story behind Anne
With over 25 years of experience in the world of mortgages, Anne Speets is a familiar face within the industry. Since more than a year she works with pleasure as Business Unit Manager at VLIEG in Alkmaar. Her knowledge, calm attitude and clear way of communicating make her a valued colleague and point of contact for both clients and team members.
Anne is originally from Alkmaar, so she feels completely at home in this location. In her free time she enjoys traveling, eating out with her partner and children, cycling and reading. Her favorite vacation destination is Iceland, because of its impressive nature and sense of space and tranquility.
Her career began at ING in the payments department. There she came into contact with mortgages, which piqued her interest. She decided to get her qualifications and became a mortgage consultant. In the years that followed, she held various positions as an advisor, team leader and manager at several intermediaries.
What does Anne Speets mean to VLIEG?
As MT member, Anne is involved in helping to shape the mission and strategy of the three disciplines of VLIEG Advies Groep: brokerage, mortgages and insurance. Within VLIEG, Anne is responsible for managing the mortgage team in Alkmaar. She supervises both the mortgage advisors and the back office staff. She also monitors customer satisfaction and service quality.
An important part of her work is monitoring compliance with laws and regulations and improving internal processes. She also contributes to the positioning of mortgages within VLIEG’s services. Her approach is structured and she makes sure people know where they stand.
Her extensive experience as both a consultant and manager means that she has a good understanding of what is going on within the team and with the client. She moves quickly, thinks ahead and supports where necessary.

What is Anne's greatest success story?
What has stayed with Anne are the clients she has helped in difficult circumstances, such as divorce. The contact is often intensive and personal. When those clients send a card or small token of gratitude afterwards, she knows that her efforts have really made a difference.
