Financial Services Privacy Statement
The VLIEG Advisory Group and its components respect your privacy and make every effort to protect it. Below you can read how we handle your personal data.
We process this personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp), General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and the Code of Conduct for Processing Personal Data by Financial Institutions.
Privacy Statement
In this privacy statement, you can read about how your VLIEG financial advisor or insurance advisor handles your information.
Your personal data
In order to properly advise you which insurance and/or mortgage loan suits your situation, we will meet with you. In this interview, we will ask you several questions. These questions relate to your knowledge and experience with financial services, your financial situation, such as income, expenses and assets, your wishes and needs insofar as relevant to the financial advice and your willingness to bear certain risks yourself or your desire to cover them, for example by means of insurance.
We handle your data with care
We treat the data we receive from you with care. We have taken technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized third parties from accessing this data. Also, all of our employees have entered into a confidentiality agreement with our office.
How do we use the information we receive from you?
We use the information we get from you to make an analysis of your financial situation. From this then follows our advice on what measures you can take to achieve your desired financial security. This could be related to building up your pension, insuring certain risks or obtaining financing.
Both in the context of preparing this advice and when you ask us to carry out parts of this advice, we may need to contact insurers, lenders, appraisal firms, employment experts and others relevant to the implementation of the financial security to be realized for you.
In the case of insurers and lenders, this involves the data these institutions wish to receive in order to determine whether, and if so under what conditions, they wish to make you an offer for insurance or credit. With appraisal firms, it’s about your contact information and the data needed to appraise the value of your property or other assets. Employment experts involve your contact information so that the employment expert can contact you as part of an application for disability insurance.
We transfer the personal data received from you to third parties only in connection with the assignment you have given us to perform certain work for you. We transfer data to these third parties only insofar as they actually need this data to perform the work we have requested for you.
How long do we keep your data?
We do not keep the data longer than we need it for the work we perform for you. No later than five years after the insurance policies and/or credits we have arranged for you have ended, we will destroy the personal data we have received from you in this context.
What are your rights?
You are our customer. So you have the right to determine what data we receive or do not receive from you. But in addition to that, you have other rights. We summarize these below.
a) You may always ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you. This
overview we provide you free of charge.
b) If you believe that we have incorrectly recorded certain information about you in our records
processed, then you can ask for correction. We greatly appreciate this, because we obviously
can only do our job properly when the data we work with for you is
be correct.
c) If you no longer want us to have certain information in our records
registered, then you can ask us to delete this data. Of course meet
we comply with your request in that case.
(d) We have indicated above the manner in which we receive data from you
use. Should you at any time wish to restrict this use, for example, that we
may not provide certain information to a particular organization, please tell us so
let us know. We will then, of course, comply with this request as well.
e) If you wish, you may ask us to transmit your data to a third party.
For example, your accountant, lawyer or bank. Upon receipt of your request, we will as
execute your request as soon as possible.
f) If we receive personal information from you from third parties, such as from your
insurer, accountant, bank or other financial advisors then we will inform you about the
source from which we received this information.
What is the situation if you do not give us certain information or restrict us from using it?
Preparing good financial advice can be compared to creating a puzzle. There are many, separate pieces that when we begin our work are all mixed together. Having all the pieces at our disposal, we almost always manage to solve the puzzle and paint you a complete picture.
But when you do not wish to provide us with certain information or restrict us in its use, we miss one or more “pieces” of the puzzle. Sometimes that is not insurmountable in order to still give you a certain final picture. We will then point out to you, however, that there may be certain gaps in this advice because we could not have had all the information and what the consequences may be for you.
If we are missing too much information, we will not be able to provide responsible advice and will inform you that we cannot perform our work for you.
Do you have any questions or complaints?
As indicated above, we try to handle your personal data as carefully as possible. Do you have questions about how your personal data is handled within our office? Then don’t hesitate to contact us about this. We will then do our best to answer these questions to the best of our ability.
If you have complaints about the way our office has handled your personal data, we would like you to contact the management of VLIEG. We promise you that this complaint will get our attention.
Should you nevertheless remain of the opinion, that we have not handled your personal data with sufficient care, you can file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority: www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
