Berry Achthoven is a mortgage consultant at VLIEG Makelaars. He has lived in Hoorn since he was six years old and has been in the business for over 32 years. A former colleague made him enthusiastic about joining VLIEG – and with success. Berry helps customers arrange their mortgages, both for existing buildings and new construction. Outside working hours he can be found on the tennis or padel court, riding his racing bike or watching sports on TV.

In three decades, Berry has experienced many things, but the common thread has always remained the same: gaining customers’ trust and exceeding their expectations. One of his greatest moments was helping a customer who had been turned down elsewhere. By listening carefully and thinking creatively, he still managed to offer a suitable solution. He never forgets that gratitude. Moments like that motivate him to get the best out of his work every day.
