The story behind Afke

With the arrival of Afke Bouma as Manager New Construction, the VLIEG Advies Group takes an important strategic step towards the further professionalization of VLIEG New Construction. Afke brings more than 20 years of experience from the world of project development, contracting and new construction brokerage. She worked for several large (building) developers and contractors and played a key role in the sale and customer support of dozens of housing projects in Amsterdam, Weesp, Haarlem and Zandvoort, among others.

She combines commercial strength with substantive expertise and loves clear language, clear structures and a well thought-out approach. Within VLIEG, Afke’s tasks include analyzing processes, optimizing lead follow-up and shaping a future-proof, scalable and customer-oriented new construction department.

What does Afke Bouma mean to VLIEG?

Afke is the first person to fill the new role of Manager New Construction within the organization. In doing so, she is laying not only an operational, but also a strategic foundation under the growth ambitions of VLIEG New Construction.

Her assignment is clear: ensure streamlined sales processes, with communication between client, branch and developer at the center. This will further optimize services and create room for growth in the new construction portfolio.

Afke believes in realizing residential desires by listening to the customer, both private and professional, innovating and most importantly together building, each from his own discipline and quality.
Her mission: to make every real estate project succeed with personal attention, expertise and a fresh perspective.

A good relationship with her clients, developers and buyers, is very close to her heart and she is willing to invest a lot of time and energy in this.

Especially pioneering within an ambitious and learning organization like VLIEG New Construction suits her well. Her motto:

Outside of work, Afke enjoys traveling, eating good food, going out in nature, horseback riding and working on her B&B in Schoorl, where she and her family have recently moved.

Afkes finest success story

A moment that has always stayed with her? It’s hard to choose. Afke is lucky that she always gets to work on beautiful new construction projects, in all kinds of price ranges and intended for different target groups so which project or situation do you choose? Perhaps challenging situations stick with me the most. For example, there was a project where sales lagged a bit after a good start. Through an intensive approach combining good lead follow-up, organizing site visits and a different marketing strategy, the sales of the apartments got a huge boost. A team effort to be proud of! It earned her appreciation not only from the developer, but especially from the buyers.

The best compliment, according to Afke, is when people say at the end of a project: ‘My new house feels like a new home. Partly because of the personal contact with Afke, I found the whole journey from purchase to completion very pleasant’. Compliments like this, that’s what she does it for.
