The Story Behind Marit
Marit is from Heerhugowaard. Before she started working, she spent six months backpacking through Asia. She enjoys seeing as much of the world as possible and having new experiences. She also loves festivals, sports, and watching TV shows. Marit was already familiar with VLIEG by name and was immediately excited when she saw a job opening. Her interest in real estate actually began earlier: she worked for two years at a real estate rental agency, where she gained a lot of experience with real estate and customer service. When she bought her own apartment and experienced the entire real estate process firsthand, she knew for sure: she wanted to go into real estate. She remains fascinated by how a house truly becomes a home and how small details can make a big difference. Since June 1, 2026, she has been putting that interest into practice at VLIEG in Alkmaar.
What does Marit mean to VLIEG?
Marit started in the back office to gain experience in the field. Her goal is to further expand her knowledge, earn her certifications, and eventually move into the field to work as a real estate agent. Currently, she ensures that day-to-day operations at the Alkmaar office run smoothly. She is the first point of contact for clients and handles phone calls, emails, and all incoming inquiries. What attracts her to real estate is that no two days are the same. She also helps with listing properties: she lists them on Funda and ensures they’re presented as attractively and completely as possible online. She also schedules viewings with potential buyers and ensures that the interaction goes smoothly. Once a property is sold, she handles the paperwork and makes sure everything is properly finalized.

Marit excels at communication and believes it’s important to be honest and clear. People know exactly what to expect from her. She’s also flexible and adapts well to different people and situations. She’s customer-focused, eager to learn, and enjoys taking on new challenges. Thanks to her business-minded approach, she actively collaborates with clients and is focused on achieving strong results. Even outside of work, people often describe her as calm, flexible, and relaxed. She adapts easily to different situations and doesn’t let things get to her. She brings that relaxed attitude to her work, which makes people feel at ease around her.
