The story behind Bas

Bas Zuiderwijk grew up in Heerhugowaard, where his passion for real estate brokerage already started when his parents sold their house in the 1980s. The real estate agent who helped them then, who also happened to work at VLIEG, intrigued Bas tremendously and sparked his interest. This led him to take the professional training in brokerage and to start a career in real estate. After working in various places in North Holland, he was sworn in as a broker and appraiser by the court in Haarlem in 1999. Since the end of 2000 he has been a familiar face in Heerhugowaard.

In addition to his work, Bas is especially sporty and social. He has been playing tennis all his life, enjoying the game and having a good time.

What does Bas mean to VLIEG?

As an experienced broker, Bas supervises the entire process of purchase and sale transactions for private clients and advises builders and developers in selling new construction projects. He also coordinates the Heerhugowaard office, where he ensures a pleasant working atmosphere and professional management of the team.

Bas's best success story

In his long career as a real estate agent, Bas has experienced many things, but one particular experience from the 1990s he remembers well. He sold a collector’s house at the time, where every room was filled from floor to ceiling with comic books and stamps. Nowadays, houses are often styled when they are sold, and potential buyers can view extensive photos and videos beforehand. Back then, however, this was not the case, often there was only a simple picture of the facade on a flyer, making viewings a real surprise. Bas looks back fondly on those days, when he paired buyers with unique sellers. For example, he sometimes sold a house with a special style to a buyer with the same taste. That often led to a click between seller and buyer, and sometimes even to lasting friendships.
